Brooklyn Danielle Decker has built a successful career as a model and actress, gaining prominence through her work with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and Victoria's Secret. She was born in Kettering, Ohio, near Dayton, to parents Tessa Moore, employed as a nurse, and Stephen Decker, who worked selling pacemakers. Her younger brother is named Jordan. Following her family's relocations to Middleburg, Ohio and later Matthews, North Carolina, a Charlotte suburb, she attended David W. Butler High School where she served as both a cheerleader and senior class president. A chance discovery at a Charlotte mall launched her modeling career when she became the face of Mauri Simone, a dress company specializing in prom wear. She earned the 2003 Model of the Year distinction at the Connections Model and Talent Convention. Her portfolio expanded to include editorial spreads in Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, FHM and Glamour, alongside international magazine covers for GQ, Esquire, Glamour and Flare. Commercial partnerships included The Gap, Intimissimi and Victoria's Secret, while she appeared in music videos for artists Jimmy Buffett and 3 Doors Down. After relocating to New York in 2005, Decker auditioned for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit within two months and debuted in the 2006 issue. She returned for consecutive appearances in 2007 and 2008, hosted the 2007 television special, and secured the coveted 2010 cover shot in the Maldives. She contributed to CNN/SI's football discussion series with Paul Zimmerman in 2007 and appeared in the television film Lipshitz Saves the World that same year. Her television credits include guest spots on NBC's Chuck and USA Network's Royal Pains. She competed as a guest judge on Germany's Next Topmodel's fifth cycle and won Esquire's 2010 Sexiest Woman Alive bracket. In 2011, she earned roles in Battleship as physical therapist Samantha Shane and in What to Expect When You're Expecting alongside Dennis Quaid. Her breakthrough came in 2015 when she joined Netflix's Grace and Frankie as Mallory Hanson, garnering critical praise throughout the show's seven seasons ending in 2022. Regarding personal matters, Decker married tennis champion Andy Roddick on April 17, 2009, after they began dating in 2007 and became engaged in March 2008. The couple reside in Charlotte, North Carolina and have two children. She remains a Global Ambassador for Special Olympics.
