Carmen Electra — Biography

Originating from Sharonville, Ohio, and having strong connections to Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carmen Electra has appeared on two magazine covers and been featured in two photo spreads. She initially launched her career as a recording artist upon relocating to Minneapolis, where she encountered Prince. The legendary musician served as the producer for her debut album, which came out in 1993 under her own name. Electra transitioned into glamour modeling beginning in 1996, regularly appearing in Playboy magazine before eventually settling in Los Angeles. Her major career breakthrough came when she landed the role of Lani McKenzie on the action-drama television program Baywatch, where she performed from 1997 to 1998. Due to her inability to swim, Kelly Monaco served as her stunt double throughout the series. During 1997, she both hosted the MTV romantic game show Singled Out and made her feature film debut in the comedy-horror film American Vampire. In 2004, she starred opposite Dave Navarro in the reality television series 'Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave while married to him, and the year after provided voice acting for the character Six in the animated program Tripping the Rift. Electra subsequently became well-known for appearing in parody comedies, such as Scary Movie, Scary Movie 4, Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and Disaster Movie, released between 2000 and 2008. Additional film appearances include Good Burger, Get Over It, Starsky & Hutch, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Dirty Love, Hot Tamale, and I Want Candy. She has additionally performed as a dancer, notably with The Pussycat Dolls during their VH1 Divas performance in 2004. Electra has garnered attention for her physical appearance and maintains the status of both "sex symbol" and "pop culture icon."
