Carolina Kluft — Biography

Born on February 2, 1983, Carolina Evelyn Klüft is a former Swedish athlete renowned for her prowess in track and field. Her competitive disciplines included the heptathlon, pentathlon, long jump, and triple jump. Klüft achieved Olympic glory by securing the heptathlon gold medal at the 2004 Athens Games. Her dominance extended to the World Championships, where she claimed three heptathlon titles, and she also triumphed in the World Indoor pentathlon. Furthermore, she secured two European heptathlon championships and two European Indoor pentathlon championships. Notably, Klüft stands alone as the only athlete to have achieved three consecutive world titles in the heptathlon, a feat accomplished in 2003, 2005, and 2007. Her remarkable career in combined events saw her remain undefeated across 22 heptathlon and pentathlon competitions from 2002 to 2007, a perfect record that culminated in nine consecutive gold medals at major championships.
