China Anne McClain — Biography
Hailing from a creatively inclined household, China Anne McClain's journey in the arts began with a strong family foundation. Her father, Michael McClain, is a seasoned music producer, vocalist, songwriter, and sound engineer. His production debut featured Solange Knowles, Beyoncé's younger sister, on the track "Sky Away" from her Solo Star CD. China Anne's mother, Shontell, also contributes her talents as a vocalist and songwriter.

After witnessing China Anne perform a song from Spy Kids 2, Ian contacted director Rob Hardy, who was actively seeking a young talent with both singing and acting prowess for the role of Alexis in his forthcoming film, The Gospel. China Anne's initial audition with Rob Hardy proved successful, and she was later selected for the part. Her sisters, Sierra Aylina McClain and Lauryn Alisa McClain, also made an appearance in the Children's Gospel Choir scene of the movie.
