From 1973 to 2006, her family owned Brainerd International Raceway, and she grew up in Orono, Minnesota, often surrounded by the vibrant atmosphere of racing, spending substantial time in the pits and garages. This early exposure fostered her passion for automobiles, which has been a significant aspect of her career.
