Cyndi Wood — Biography
Cyndi Wood grew up in an entertainment industry household, with her father working as a music industry executive and her mother pursuing an acting career. She enrolled at both Los Angeles City College and Los Angeles Valley College, initially pursuing music studies before redirecting her focus toward theatre. She left college in 1971 without completing her degree. Wood was known for her creative independence, designing and constructing her own wardrobe. Comfortable with her appearance and enjoying nudity, she decided to pose for Playboy, citing financial gain and increased public visibility as her motivations. Her work with the magazine resulted in several notable honors. She received Playmate of the Month recognition in the United States edition for February 1973, as well as in the German edition for August 1973 and the Italian edition for April/May 1973. Wood went on to achieve the prestigious title of Playmate of the Year for both the United States and German editions in 1974.
