Dalene Kurtis, a model based in both Apple Valley and Bakersfield, California, graced the pages of Playboy magazine with 22 covers and 22 photo spreads that were created exclusively for the publication before she stepped away from the industry in 2011. She achieved significant recognition within the magazine, earning the title of Playboy Playmate of the Month for September 2001 and subsequently receiving the honor of Playboy Playmate of the Year in 2002. Her image also appeared as the Playmate of the Month in international editions including Playboy Netherlands, Playboy Czech Republic, Playboy France, and Playboy Russia throughout 2001 and 2002.

Kurtis launched her professional modeling career after winning a competition held by Venus Swimwear.
