Elcin Sangu — Biography
Born in İzmir on August 13, 1985, Elçin Sangu is a Turkish performer of Circassian heritage, recognized as both an actress and a model. Her presence in television advertisements and marketing campaigns has propelled her to become a highly sought-after and financially successful figure in Turkey. Prior to her on-screen endeavors, Sangu pursued her education in the Opera Department at Mersin University. She honed her craft as a stage performer before transitioning to television dramas. Her most prominent role to date is that of "Defne" in the romantic comedy series Kiralık Aşk, which captivated audiences on Star TV from June 2015 through its conclusion in January 2017. This particular performance garnered her over 20 award nominations, including three Golden Butterfly Awards. After appearing in the ATV series Sevdam Alabora in 2015, her career reached a significant turning point that same year with her starring role as "Defne" in Kiralık Aşk, where she shared the screen with Barış Arduç. The series, spanning 69 episodes, was a critical and commercial success, with Sangu's performance widely praised. In 2017, it was announced that Sangu was slated for a new series on Kanal D. Furthermore, in August of that year, it was revealed that Sangu and Barış Arduç would collaborate on the film Mutluluk Zamanı, previously known by titles such as Yanımda Kal and Gitme Sen!.
