Emma McKeon — Biography

Born on May 24, 1994, Emma Jennifer McKeon, now recognized as a Member of the Order of Australia, is a prominent figure in Australian competitive swimming. Her impressive career boasts four world records in the 4x100 metre freestyle relay, with one currently standing and three previously held. By the conclusion of the 2020 Olympic Games, McKeon had amassed an astonishing eleven Olympic medals, solidifying her status as Australia's most successful Olympian in history. This includes a single gold from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics and an impressive four golds from the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. At the 2020 Games, she distinguished herself as the most decorated athlete across all disciplines, securing four gold and three bronze medals. This remarkable performance also saw her equal the record for the most medals won by a female competitor in a single Olympic Games. Her achievements extend to the World Aquatics Championships, where she has collected seventeen medals, including four gold.
