Flavia Alessandra — Biography

Flávia Alessandra, a Brazilian performer with Portuguese heritage and a legal background, has carved out a notable career in television. She gained recognition for her diverse roles, including Sônia in História de Amor, Dorothy in A Indomada, and Lívia, a character she portrayed across three telenovelas: Meu Bem Querer, Porto dos Milagres, and O Beijo do Vampiro. Her performance as the intensely focused villain Cristina in Alma Gêmea earned significant accolades. Alessandra also showed her comedic side as Vanessa in Pé na Jaca, a sensual pole dancer named Alzira in Duas Caras, and the romantic Dafne in Caras & Bocas. Further showcasing her range, she embodied the robot Naomi in Morde & Assopra, Erica in Salve Jorge, the antagonist Sandra in Êta Mundo Bom!, and Helena in Salve-se Quem Puder. Beyond her acting, Flávia Alessandra was featured as Playmate of the Month in the Brazilian edition of Playboy in August 2006 and December 2009.

In her personal life, Alessandra was married to director Marcos Paulo from 1992 to 2002. They welcomed their first daughter, Giúlia Martins Simões, on February 25, 2000. On October 14, 2006, she remarried actor Otaviano Costa. Their second daughter, Olívia Martins da Costa, was born on October 5, 2010. Both of her daughters were born via cesarean section in Rio de Janeiro.
