Julia Volkova, born Yulia Olegovna Volkova, rose to prominence as one half of the iconic Russian duo t.A.T.u., alongside Lena Katina. This musical partnership, forged in the vibrant city of Moscow, Russia, was brought together by Ivan Shapovalov. The group's journey began in March 1999, and their unique sound quickly captured attention, leading to a record deal with Universal Music Russia. Their international reach expanded in 2001 when they also signed with Universal's subsidiary label, Interscope Records.
