Karrueche Tran — Biography

Karrueche Tran emerged into the public eye as a socialite and actress, initially gaining widespread attention through her relationship with R&B artist Chris Brown. Her acting career has seen her take on significant roles, notably portraying Virginia Loc in the TNT drama series Claws. She also starred as Vivian Johnson in the web series The Bay, a role that earned her significant acclaim. In 2021, she was honored with a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program for her work on The Bay. This win marked a historic achievement, making her the first individual of Asian Pacific American heritage to secure an Emmy in a Lead Actor or Actress category. Furthermore, The Bay received two additional Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series in 2016 and 2017, accolades for which Tran shared credit as part of the cast and crew. Tran's heritage is a blend of African and Vietnamese roots.
