Kim Yuna — Biography

Born on September 5, 1990, Yuna Kim, recognized in her native Korea as Kim Yuna or Kim Yeon-ah, is a retired South Korean figure skater who competed professionally. Her impressive career highlights include securing the gold medal at the 2010 Olympic Games and a silver medal at the 2014 Olympics in ladies' singles. She achieved the World Championship title twice, in 2009 and 2013. Kim also claimed the Four Continents Championship in 2009. Her dominance in the Grand Prix series is marked by three championships: the 2006-2007, 2007-2008, and 2009-2010 seasons. Earlier in her career, she won the 2006 World Junior title and the 2005 Junior Grand Prix Final. Domestically, Kim Yuna was the undisputed champion of South Korea, winning the national title a remarkable six times: in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2013, and 2014.
