Laura Pausini — Biography
Emerging from Italy, Laura Pausini launched her musical journey in 1993. Her initial breakthrough came with a victory at the Sanremo Festival in the Newcomers category for her song "La solitudine." She solidified her rising stardom the subsequent year, securing third place with "Strani amori." Pausini's discography boasts fourteen studio albums, complemented by two international compilation albums of her greatest hits and a separate compilation specifically for English-speaking audiences. Her linguistic abilities extend to four languages: English, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. Over the course of her career, Pausini has been recognized with a multitude of accolades both within Italy and on the global stage. A significant achievement arrived in 2006 when she earned a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album for her work on "Escucha." More recently, in 2021, her contribution to the film The Life Ahead, the original song "Io sì (Seen)," garnered an Academy Award nomination. This same track also achieved a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, marking a historic first for an Italian-language song. Pausini has been in a partnership with Italian guitarist, composer, music producer, and former singer Paolo Carta since 2005. At the outset, this relationship faced scrutiny due to Carta's existing marriage and his three children with his first wife, Rebecca Galli. Pausini welcomed their daughter on February 8, 2013. After nearly two decades together, Pausini and Carta exchanged vows on March 22, 2023. As of April 2024, her presence on social media is substantial, with 4.8 million followers on Instagram, 777,600 on TikTok, and 1.12 million subscribers on YouTube.
