At the young age of 18, she earned the title of "Miss Queen of Speed" at Atlanta International Raceway and subsequently claimed the titles of "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" and "queen of the 1961 Dixie 400." In recognition of her contributions to motorsport, she was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2019.
