Mekia Cox — Biography

Born on November 18, 1981, Mekia Cox is an American performer recognized for her work in both acting and dance. Her television credits include a recurring presence as Sasha in the second and third installments of The CW's drama 90210, and the part of Dr. Robyn Charles in the NBC medical series Chicago Med. Before her acting career took hold, Cox was a dancer in Michael Jackson's concert production This Is It and appeared in the documentary film Michael Jackson's This Is It. In 2010, she took on the co-starring role of Lizzy Gilliam in the brief NBC spy drama Undercovers. Audiences also know her as Princess Tiana from ABC's fantasy drama Once Upon A Time, and more recently as Detective Nyla Harper in the ABC police procedural The Rookie. As of November 2025, Mekia Cox has cultivated a following of 821,000 on Instagram.
