Minki Van Der Westhuizen embarked on her modeling career at the tender age of sixteen. By her senior year of high school in 2002, she had captured the attention of Guess, leading to her selection for an international campaign by the renowned fashion house. Her professional representation is managed by Max Models, based in Cape Town.
Her striking presence graced the pages of South African Sports Illustrated's Swimwear editions in 2002, 2003, 2006, and 2007, and she also appeared on the cover of GQ. In 2003, Maxim recognized her by placing her at number 24 on their prestigious Hot 100 list. South African readers of FHM crowned her the winner of their 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll in 2004.
