Morgan Lander — Biography
Morgan Lee Lander entered the world on January 6, 1982. She is the driving force behind the Canadian alternative metal band Kittie, holding the positions of lead singer and guitarist. Her sibling, Mercedes Lander, also contributes to the band's sound. Morgan is recognized for her vocal range, which encompasses guttural growls alongside melodic singing.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Dave and Deanna Lander, Morgan welcomed her sister, Mercedes, two years later. Mercedes would go on to become the drummer and a founding member of Kittie. The Lander family relocated to London, Ontario, when Morgan was just two years old. Her musical journey began with piano lessons at the age of six, but she soon transitioned to the guitar. By 13, she was crafting her own compositions, including "Brackish," which would become Kittie's signature song, collaborating with Mercedes and a friend named Fallon Bowman.
In 1996, at the age of 14, Morgan joined Mercedes, Fallon, and Tanya Candler to form Kittie. The band's seminal album, Spit, was released three years later, marking their significant arrival. Beyond her musical endeavors, Morgan has established herself as a businesswoman. Alongside Mercedes, she co-owns Poisoned Black Clothing, a fashion line that debuted in September 2005, catering to a distinctive style for young men and women. Furthermore, Morgan is involved in a family-operated management company, X Of Infamy, formerly known as Kiss of Infamy, where she currently guides the careers of two emerging musical acts.
