Raye Hollitt — Biography

Raye Hollitt, recognized by her on-screen persona Zap, is an American actress and accomplished female bodybuilder. She was a foundational member of the original lineup for the television series American Gladiators. Hollitt completed her secondary education at Lake-Lehman High School in 1982 and subsequently dedicated seven years to a career as a paralegal. Her debut on American Gladiators occurred during its inaugural season in 1989. She paused her participation for the second season, from 1990 to 1991, to focus on family, but rejoined the competition for the third season and remained a fixture on the show until 1995. Hollitt later made a special appearance in an alumni event during the show's final season, which ran from 1995 to 1996. Prior to her rise to fame as Zap, Hollitt had a stint as a contestant on the game show Card Sharks. Her acting credits also include a speaking part in Blake Edwards' 1989 film, Skin Deep. Furthermore, Hollitt participated in the pilot episode of JAG (Judge Advocate General), portraying a pilot named Cassie. Her television presence extended to appearances on shows such as Baywatch and Blossom, among others. She currently resides in South Lake Tahoe with her husband, Kenn Olson. Previously, she was married to Ted Prior from 1990 to 1992.
