Tanya Roberts, originally named Victoria Leigh Blum, was born on October 15, 1955, and has established herself as an American actress renowned for her performances in productions like Charlie's Angels, The Beastmaster, A View to a Kill, Sheena, and That '70s Show. During the early 1980s, she was celebrated as one of Hollywood's most prominent sex symbols. Roberts hailed from The Bronx and had Irish and Jewish heritage. Her father worked as an ink pen salesman, but her parents divorced when she was in her teenage years. Following the divorce, she spent several years living with her mother in Toronto, where she began building a photography portfolio and conceptualizing her future career. At the age of 15, she left school to marry and traveled across the United States by hitchhiking until her marriage was annulled by her mother-in-law. After returning to New York City, she transitioned into a successful fashion and cover model. It was there that she met Barry Roberts, a psychology student, while waiting in line for a film. In a spontaneous moment, she proposed to him in a subway station, and they soon entered matrimony. While Barry worked on becoming a screenwriter, Tanya pursued acting studies at the Actors Studio under the guidance of Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagen.
