Teyonah Parris — Biography

Teyonah Parris, born on September 22, 1987, is an American performer. Having completed her studies at the prestigious Juilliard School, she embarked on her acting career in 2010. Her breakthrough moment arrived with her portrayal of secretary Dawn Chambers in the AMC series Mad Men, a role she held from 2012 to 2015. She also took center stage in the 2014 independent film Dear White People. Following these successes, Parris featured in Spike Lee's 2015 movie Chi-Raq, the television series Empire in 2014, and the acclaimed 2018 drama If Beale Street Could Talk. In 2021, she stepped into the world of horror with the film Candyman and simultaneously introduced audiences to Monica Rambeau in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the Disney+ show WandaVision. As of November 2024, her presence on Instagram has attracted a following of 449,000 users.
