Xia Brookside — Biography
Xia-Louise Brooks, more widely recognized by her wrestling moniker Xia Brookside, is an English professional grappler and a ringside attendant. Her current professional endeavors are with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). Previously, her career saw her compete for the Japanese promotion World Wonder Ring Stardom and for WWE, where she was a fixture on the NXT UK brand.
Born in Leicester on October 16, 1998, Xia-Louise Brooks shares her lineage with fellow professional wrestler Robbie Brookside, who is her father.
Brooks's journey in professional wrestling began under the tutelage of her father, alongside trainers Dean Allmark and Robbie Dynamite. Adopting the ring name Xia Brookside, she made her professional debut in Liverpool, her father's hometown, on August 2, 2015, participating in an All Star Wrestling event. In this debut match, she partnered with El Ligero, and together they defeated the team of Kay Lee Ray and Sammy D. February 2016 saw her involved in a three-way contest for the ICW Women's Championship, ultimately losing to Kay Lee Ray and Carmel Jacob. In May of the same year, she competed in the Empress Pro Invitational, where she advanced to the finals by defeating Toni Storm in the semi-finals, and then went on to win the tournament by defeating Kay Lee Ray. On June 26, 2016, Brookside captured the Pro Wrestling Ulster Women's Championship by defeating Toni Storm. Later in 2017, at a Kamikaze Pro show, her match against Rosemary concluded with a loss for Brookside. Her participation in Revolution Pro Wrestling commenced in 2016 with a loss to Jinny Couture. By 2017, she had begun competing for the renowned Japanese promotion World Wonder Ring Stardom. Her debut there was a tag team match where she, Mari Apache, and Gabby Ortiz emerged victorious against Hiromi Mimura, Konami, and Starlight Kid. In her second Stardom appearance, Brookside and Ortiz teamed up to defeat Team Jungle's Natsuko Tora and Kaori Yoneyama. During the 2017 5STAR Grand Prix, she secured two points in the initial block B matches with a win over Kris Wolf.
July 30, 2018, marked the announcement of Brookside's participation in the second annual WWE Mae Young Classic, which took place in August. Her tournament run ended in the first round with a defeat at the hands of Io Shirai. Despite this early exit, she was subsequently added to the NXT UK roster. She entered a tournament to crown the inaugural NXT UK Women's Champion but was eliminated in the first round.
