Dafina Zeqiri — Biography

Known universally as Dafina, this artist, born in Varberg, Sweden, on April 14, 1989, hails from an Albanian family originating in Kosovo. She is the sibling of Tringa Zeqiri and Besa Tafari, who was formerly Besa Zeqiri. Dafina's father, Nebih Bajraktari, departed the family early in her life and remained absent. He later issued a public plea for forgiveness, which Dafina did not publicly acknowledge. Her mother, Melihate Zeqiri, was a vocalist in the 1980s.

In 2007, Dafina participated in the Polifest Festival, earning a nomination for her song "Rrallë e Përmallë" and ultimately claiming victory in the competition. The following year, 2008, saw her nominated for a BOOM Award for her track "Adios," where she secured the audience's choice award. That same year, she unveiled her debut album, titled Knock Down. Soon after, her involvement in Kënga Magjike resulted in the "First Magic" award for her song "Bateritë." Her success expanded with collaborations, including "La Vida Loca" alongside Blero & F-Kay, and "Shumë Naltë" with Capital T & 2po2. In May 2009, she was honored with the "Best RNB" award at Top Fest 6 for her song "Dua që ta di." During 2009, two of her music videos achieved significant popularity: "Shumë Larg," directed by Stamps Pictures, and "Amazing Girl," helmed by Entermedia. In 2010, she journeyed to Australia to film the video for "Rock This Club." December 2011 marked the release of the song "D&G," a collaboration with Albanian rapper Getoar Selimi. She had previously released "Tonight," which was also slated for inclusion on the new album "Just Me." Additionally, she unveiled two new music videos, "Veç Ti" and "Bloodah."

From 2015 onwards, she introduced the King EP and Dafinë moj. The March 2016 release of "Liri" earned her an award for best production at the 2016 Netët e Klipit Shqiptar gala in Tirana, Albania. Following several months spent in the United States, Zeqiri presented her first extended play, King, in November 2017. Its lead single, "Four Season," released in March 2017, attained the third position in Albania. The music video for this single featured a guest appearance by Moroccan-American rapper French Montana.
