Erika Tham — Biography

Erika Tham, a Canadian talent known for her abilities as an actress, singer, and songwriter, has navigated a path from the screen to the recording studio. Early in her career, she captured audiences' attention with her portrayal of Corki in Nickelodeon's Make It Pop and as Bonnie in the Disney Channel movie Kim Possible. Her acting portfolio also includes a role in FOX's Star. Driven by a deep-seated passion for music, Tham unveiled her inaugural single, “Admit It,” in 2021. Her EP beautifully integrates traditional Asian instruments, a deliberate choice to honor her heritage. Tham, a multi-ethnic artist, first gained prominence for her role as Corki in the Nickelodeon series Make It Pop. This groundbreaking show featured three young Asian Canadian teenagers as positive role models, resonating with themes of female empowerment. Make It Pop centers on the journey of three close friends pursuing their musical aspirations while managing academics and personal relationships. Born in Singapore, Tham's background is a rich tapestry of Chinese, Dutch, Malaysian, and Ukrainian descent. Her childhood was marked by extensive travel and residence across Asia, including Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, China, and Thailand. Her talent was first noticed during a production of Oliver Twist at the Beijing PLA Opera House. Subsequently, the London Olympic committee handpicked her for a significant part in the 2008 Olympic Closing Ceremonies, specifically the handover segment from China to England. Her second professional audition resulted in a leading role on Nickelodeon's Make It Pop. Tham's other acting credits include Nickelodeon's The Other Kingdom.
