Jessica Jaymes entered the world as Jessica Redding on March 8, 1979, in Anchorage, Alaska. Her formative years were spent in Alaska under the care of her father, a Drug Enforcement Administration operative and undercover officer, alongside her mother, a homemaker. When her parents divorced at age three, her family moved frequently across different states in connection with her father's work, eventually settling in Arizona during her high school years. She completed her secondary education at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona, graduating in 1997, and initially pursued a career as an elementary school educator before seeking different paths. Her background encompassed Czech and French heritage through her mother and Seminole Native American ancestry through her father, and she considered herself American. In her professional life, she adopted the stage name Jessica Jaymes when entering the adult entertainment field, though some early appearances credited her as "Jessica James." Her transition into adult entertainment occurred in 2002 when she was twenty-three years old, beginning as a dancer in Tucson, Arizona, after becoming disenchanted with teaching.
