Jewel Staite, whose full name is Jewel Belair Staite, entered the world on June 2, 1982, in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. Her early years were spent in Maui, where she lived for the first three years of her life. Staite began her journey into the entertainment industry at the tender age of six, starting as a model. Her talent was recognized when she won the best actress award for her performance in "Meeting Dad," a short film produced by the Vancouver Film School.

From 2003 to 2011, she was married to fellow actor Matt Anderson. After their separation, she became engaged to Charlie Ritchie in 2015. In the same year, in May, Staite revealed that she was expecting her first child, a boy who would arrive later that year. She and Ritchie tied the knot on July 23, 2016.
