Sobre Joann Witty
Priscilla Anne Barnes, born on December 7, 1954, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, gained recognition in the entertainment world as both a model and actress, often using the alias Joann Witty. While working as a hostess at a Hollywood nightclub, she posed nude for Penthouse magazine’s "Pet of the Month" feature in March 1976. This venture resulted in a legal dispute years later when Penthouse sought to reissue those images under her real name in 1982, after she had achieved fame for portraying Terri Alden on the popular ABC sitcom Three's Company from 1981 to 1984. The contention revolved around a handwritten addendum to her model release contract. Following an unfavorable ruling for Penthouse in the initial court case, the publication appealed the decision to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, where the court ultimately upheld Barnes' stance, declaring the handwritten note was legally binding and prevented the republication of the photos under her true identity. An interesting highlight in her career is that she is the only cast member of Three's Company who became a Bond Girl; she made an appearance in the 1989 movie The Living Daylights, starring Timothy Dalton. Additionally, her work includes various films such as A Vacation in Hell (1979), Licence to Kill (1989), Stepfather III (1992), and The Crossing Guard (1995). From 2014 to 2019, Barnes took on the role of Magda Andel in the CW series Jane the Virgin. She is married to actor Ted Monte.
