Kathryn Hahn — Biography

Born on July 23, 1973, Kathryn Marie Hahn is an American performer known for her work in both acting and comedy. Her professional journey commenced on the small screen, where she portrayed Lily Lebowski, a grief counselor, in the NBC crime drama Crossing Jordan, a role she held from 2001 to 2007. Hahn subsequently earned wider recognition for her supporting roles in a variety of comedic films. These include How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Step Brothers (2008), The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard (2009), Our Idiot Brother (2011), We're the Millers and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (both 2013), and most recently, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022).

Venturing into leading roles in cinema, Hahn took center stage in Joey Soloway's comedy-drama Afternoon Delight (2013). She also starred in the comedy film Bad Moms (2016) and its 2017 follow-up, as well as Tamara Jenkins' drama Private Life (2018). Her performance in Private Life garnered considerable critical praise and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Hahn has also contributed to several dramatic films, such as Revolutionary Road (2008), This Is Where I Leave You (2014), Tomorrowland (2015), The Visit (2015), and Captain Fantastic (2016). For her work in Captain Fantastic, she secured her inaugural Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. Her voice talents were showcased in the Hotel Transylvania franchise, where she lent her voice to Ericka Van Helsing in two installments between 2018 and 2022. On television, Hahn made a memorable recurring guest appearance on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation between 2012 and 2015, earning a Critics' Choice nomination for Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series. She then took on a starring role in the Amazon Prime Video comedy-drama series Transparent from 2014 to 2019, receiving a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
