Sobre Kiana Tom

Originating from Maui, Hawaii on March 14, 1965, Kiana Tom has built a multifaceted career spanning fitness instruction, television hosting, and entertainment. She previously performed as an Oakland Raiderettes member before transitioning to the fitness industry. Beginning in 1988, Tom became a host of BodyShaping, a long-running fitness instruction program. She gained significant prominence in 1995 when she created and hosted Kiana's Flex Appeal on ESPN, a comprehensive lifestyle and wellness show for which she also served as co-producer. Throughout the program's run until 2001, Tom designed numerous workout routines and developed various segments focusing on home and professional gym training, targeted workouts, and aquatic fitness. The show's strong initial viewership led ESPN to commission additional programs featuring Tom, including Kiana's Too Fit 2 Quit, Summer Sizzle with Kiana, and Hot Summer Nights with Kiana. Her television appearances have extended beyond fitness programming, with hosting duties for ABC's Super Bowl Nightlife coverage and numerous other broadcast credits. Tom achieved film recognition through a role opposite Jean Claude Van Damme in Universal Soldier: The Return, with critical reviews noting how her athletic presence enhanced the movie's physical intensity. Her entrepreneurial ventures include a comprehensive fitness brand featuring Kiana's Body Sculpting literature, a fitness apparel line, nutritional supplements, and instructional exercise videos. Recognition for her industry contributions includes a United States Sports Academy Award and appearances supporting the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. She served as master of ceremonies for the Governor's Ball at the inaugural X Games in Newport, Rhode Island. In May 2002, Tom appeared as a cover model and feature in Playboy magazine. She married a fire department captain in March 2002 and is mother to two daughters. Her father, Layne Tom Jr., was an actor who appeared in Charlie Chan films and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Tom possesses Hawaiian, Chinese, and Irish heritage, with her Hawaiian name translating to either "calm water" or "moon goddess," and maintains proficiency as a trained pianist.
