Logan Tom — Biography

Logan Tom, born on May 25, 1981, transitioned from a distinguished career as an American indoor and beach volleyball athlete to her current role as the head coach for the Israeli women's national volleyball team. Her Olympic journey saw her participate four times as an outside hitter. Her Olympic debut occurred at the 2000 Sydney Games, making her the youngest ever to represent the United States in Olympic volleyball at just 19 years old. Tom was recognized as a highly capable, versatile player, bolstering the U.S. squad's serve reception and defensive efforts, while also contributing a reliable offensive presence and defensive presence at the net. She was a cornerstone of the national team for over a decade, from 2000 to 2012. During the 2008 Olympic competition, Tom was instrumental in helping the U.S. secure a silver medal, earning the title of Best Scorer. She went on to win a second silver medal with the national team at the 2012 Olympics. Prior to that, in 2004, she was honored with the Most Valuable Player award at the FIVB World Grand Prix. Her significant contributions to the sport were further recognized in October 2021 when she was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame, alongside Clay Stanley and Todd Rogers.
