Malin Akerman — Biography

Malin Maria Åkerman, born on May 12, 1978, is a Swedish actress, model, and singer. She entered the world in Stockholm but grew up in Ontario, Canada, as her family moved there during the 1980s. In the early 2000s, Åkerman began taking on various minor roles in both Canadian and American film and television, appearing in productions such as The Utopian Society (2003) and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004). After a supporting role in the HBO comedy series The Comeback (2005), she secured her first prominent roles in the romantic comedies The Heartbreak Kid (2007) and 27 Dresses (2008). Åkerman starred as Silk Spectre II in Watchmen (2009), a performance that earned her a nomination for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. As of July 2025, she has gained 575,000 followers on Instagram.
