Naiara Azevedo — Biography

Naiara Azevedo, a gifted Brazilian artist who excels as a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, was born Naiara de Fátima Azevedo on October 30, 1989, in Campo Mourão, a town nestled in the interior of Paraná. Her parents are Iraci Azevedo and Amarildo Azevedo. Growing up in modest surroundings, with music deeply ingrained in her family through her uncles, grandparents, and cousins, Naiara experienced a profound country influence from a young age. During her formative years, she lent her voice to a local church choir. She spent her childhood and teenage years on the family farm, a place she called home until the age of seventeen. At that point, having passed her university entrance exams, she ventured out on her own to the city of Umuarama. There, she pursued studies in Aesthetics and Cosmetology, eventually earning a postgraduate degree. While attending university, she juggled a part-time job as a waitress at a restaurant during the week and showcased her singing talents on weekend nights at informal gigs in local bars. In 2012, fueled by a strong ambition to make music her livelihood and propel her career forward, she relocated to Londrina. Her musical journey took a significant turn in 2013 when her work gained traction online, capturing the notice of the music industry and leading to the recording of her inaugural DVD. In conversations, she has shared that the renowned duo Chitãozinho & Xororó are among her primary inspirations. Naiara Azevedo has graced stages across every Brazilian state and has also performed in several U.S. states, including Massachusetts (Boston), New Jersey (Newark), Florida (Orlando), Georgia (Atlanta), and California (Hollywood). As of March 2024, her online presence is substantial, with 8.0 million followers on Instagram and 4.3 million on her TikTok account. She was a participant in the 22nd season of Big Brother Brazil, alongside other notable figures such as Barbara Heck, Brunna Goncalves, Eslovenia Marques, Jade Picon, Lais Caldas, Larissa Tomasia, Maria Bomani, and Natalia Deodato, among others.
