Natalia Poklonskaya — Biography
Born in the village of Mykhailivka within the Perevalsk Raion of Voroshilovgrad Oblast in the Ukrainian SSR on March 18, 1980, Natalia Poklonskaya is a legal professional, politician, and diplomat with Ukrainian origins. Her current position, as of June 14, 2022, is that of an advisor to the Prosecutor General of Russia. Prior to this, she held a series of political and diplomatic responsibilities, most notably serving as the Prosecutor General of Crimea from 2014 to 2016. Following her tenure in Crimea, she represented a constituency as a Deputy of the State Duma of Russia from 2016 to 2021.
Poklonskaya's career in law began in Ukraine, where she served as a prosecutor in various capacities, including assistant district attorney, from 2002 until February 2014. She is the mother of a daughter, Anastasiya, born in 2005. In June 2017, Poklonskaya indicated in an interview that she was unmarried, though she mentioned a past relationship with someone with whom marriage plans had been considered, but the union did not materialize.
