Natasha Bedingfield — Biography
Born on November 26, 1981, Natasha Anne Bedingfield is a British vocalist and composer. She launched her career with the album Unwritten in 2004. This collection primarily featured energetic pop tunes, drawing inspiration from R&B. Unwritten achieved widespread acclaim, selling over 2.3 million units globally. The title track, "Unwritten," earned Bedingfield a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. She also garnered nominations for Best British Female Artist at the 2005 and 2006 Brit Awards. "These Words," another song from Unwritten, became her sole number one hit in the United Kingdom. Her subsequent album, N.B., released in 2007, spawned the UK top 10 hits "I Wanna Have Your Babies" and "Soulmate." While N.B. did not receive a North American release, a reimagined version titled Pocketful of Sunshine arrived in 2008. This release combined six tracks from N.B. with seven new compositions, and its singles "Love Like This" and "Pocketful of Sunshine" found success on the charts. In December 2010, Bedingfield unveiled her third North American album, Strip Me, with its title track reaching number 91 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Globally, Bedingfield has achieved sales of over 10 million albums and 10 million singles, accumulating more than 20 million records sold worldwide. In 2012, VH1 recognized her by placing her at number 66 on their ranking of the 100 Greatest Women in Music.
