Nina Kamenova Dobreva is an actress holding both Bulgarian and Canadian citizenship. She gained widespread recognition for her dual performances as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce in The CW's fantasy thriller The Vampire Diaries, which ran from 2009 to 2015. Originally from Sofia, she relocated to Toronto during her childhood. Dobreva's acting career began with small parts in various motion pictures before she achieved her breakthrough as Mia Jones on the television drama Degrassi: The Next Generation between 2006 and 2009. Following this success, she became a prominent figure in entertainment through her work on The Vampire Diaries, subsequently appearing in numerous theatrical releases. These include the 2012 coming-of-age film The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the comedic films Let's Be Cops and The Final Girls from 2014, and the 2017 sci-fi thriller Flatliners. Her most commercially successful venture was XXX: Return of Xander Cage in 2017.
