Sobre Penny Flame

Penny Flame, originally from Aurora, Colorado, later moved to the San Francisco Bay area, where she built a career in modeling and adult entertainment before retiring in 2009. Born in Aurora, she pursued her education at San Diego State University, focusing on business administration with aspirations of entering hotel management. Penny's foray into modeling began when she answered an advertisement in her university’s newspaper, which ultimately led her to meet an agent at one of her early modeling gigs. Her stage name was inspired by The Beatles' classic "Penny Lane."

In 2003, motivated by financial needs to support her studies, she decided to venture into adult films, working four days a month to earn a sufficient income while she concentrated on her education. Initially, her appearances were limited to solo photography before she made her debut in adult films with "Indian Givers," directed by Robby D. for Digital Playground. During the initial phase of her career, she exclusively engaged in solo or all-girl scenes, but in 2005, she began collaborating with male performers. That same year, she earned the AVN Award for "Best Solo Sex Scene" for her work in "Repo Girl." This accolade significantly boosted her self-esteem and aided her transition to scenes with male actors.

Her career saw an upswing in 2005 when she starred in the big-budget film "DarkSide," which marked Red Light District's inaugural feature. For her role in "DarkSide," she won two more AVN Awards for "Best Couples Sex Scene—Film" alongside Herschel Savage, and "Best Group Sex Scene—Film." While her resume includes a range of credits, Penny preferred working primarily in gonzo-style films and signed an exclusive directing agreement with Shane’s World Studios. Under this banner, she launched her own film series called "Blazed and Confused," highlighting her support for marijuana.

In 2009, Penny took a significant step in her life by entering the Pasadena Recovery Center for sex addiction while participating in the reality series "Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew." Initially, her intention was to leverage the show for publicity within the adult industry, but she ultimately recognized her struggles with addiction. Since leaving the adult film industry, she has embraced a new life in California and is in a committed relationship. Now known as Jennie Ketcham, she operates a blog titled "Becoming Jennie," contributes articles to the Huffington Post, paints during her leisure, and is in the process of writing a memoir. She made an appearance on the show "Sober House" in March 2010 and has expressed that she holds no regrets about her past in the adult entertainment industry.
