Rosario Dawson — Biography

Rosario Dawson is a multi-talented American actress, producer, and singer known for her diverse work across film and television. She gained recognition with roles in a variety of films, including Josie and the Pussycats (2001), Men in Black II (2002), Sin City (2005), Clerks II (2006), Death Proof (2007), Seven Pounds (2008), Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), Unstoppable (2010), Zookeeper (2011), Trance (2013), Top Five (2014), and Zombieland: Double Tap (2019). In addition to her on-screen performances, Dawson has lent her voice to projects for Disney/Marvel, Warner Bros./DC Comics, and Nickelodeon under ViacomCBS.

Her portrayal in the musical film Rent earned her the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture, and she received a nomination for the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actress in a Comedy for her work in Top Five. Dawson is also recognized for significant roles in superhero adaptations; she played Gail in Sin City (2005) and its sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014), as well as Claire Temple in five Marvel/Netflix series between 2015 and 2018. Furthermore, she has voiced prominent characters such as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Movie Universe and Space Jam: A New Legacy, as well as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in The Lego Batman Movie.

In 2020, Dawson brought Ahsoka Tano to life in the second season of The Mandalorian and starred in the Disney+ original series Ahsoka. In 2021, she took on a recurring part in Dwayne Johnson's autobiographical comedy series Young Rock and appeared in the Hulu miniseries Dopesick.
