Sarah Louise Heath Palin was born on February 11, 1964, and has become a prominent figure in American politics, media commentary, and television. She held the position of Alaska's 9th governor, serving from 2006 before stepping down in 2009. During the 2008 presidential race, she made history as John McCain's running mate on the Republican ticket, becoming both the first female Republican vice presidential candidate and the second woman to receive such a nomination from a major party, preceded only by Geraldine Ferraro's candidacy in 1984. The McCain-Palin team was defeated in the general election by Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Prior to her governorship, Palin began her political career by joining the Wasilla city council in 1992 and subsequently serving as the city's mayor starting in 1996. She pursued the lieutenant governor position in 2003 without success but was then appointed to lead the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, where she managed oversight of the state's petroleum resources. Her 2006 election as Alaska governor marked a significant achievement, as she became the state's first female governor and its youngest to date.

Following her gubernatorial resignation, Palin has been actively involved in promoting the Tea Party movement and supporting various political candidates, notably backing Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Her media career included serving as a political analyst for Fox News between 2010 and 2015, hosting TLC's Sarah Palin's Alaska during 2010 and 2011, and presenting Amazing America with Sarah Palin on the Sportsman Channel in 2014 and 2015. She also created and managed the Sarah Palin Channel, a subscription-based online streaming platform operating through TAPP TV from 2014 to 2015.

Her autobiographical work, Going Rogue, achieved significant commercial success with sales surpassing two million copies. Palin is the mother of five children, including Bristol, Willow, and Piper. As of February 2025, she maintains an Instagram following of approximately 250,000 people.
