Shannyn Sossamon — Biography
Shannyn Sossamon, an American actress and musician, is the daughter of Sherry Sossamon, a nurse, and Todd Lindberg. Her roots are a tapestry woven from Dutch, English, French, German, Irish, Filipino, and Hawaiian heritage. Sossamon shared the screen with Josh Hartnett in the 2002 Miramax romantic comedy '40 Days and 40 Nights,' portraying Erica Sutton, the object of his character Matt Sullivan's affections. She also took on the central female role in the independent romantic black comedy "Wristcutters: A Love Story," an adaptation of an Etgar Keret short story. Currently, Sossamon is partnered with Dallas Clayton, an author and illustrator recognized for his "Awesome Book" series for children. The couple welcomed their first son, Audio Science Clayton, on May 29, 2003, and their second son, Mortimer Sossamon Dallas Clayton, in December 2011. In 2002, Sossamon received the Young Hollywood Award for Breakthrough Female Performance. Her vocal talents were heard as Lorna in an episode of 'Over the Garden Wall' that aired on November 6, 2014. She also appeared as Lydia in the independent romantic drama 'The End of Love,' playing a single mother and the love interest of Mark Webber's character. Sossamon is the sister of Jenny Lee Lindberg, the bassist for the band Warpaint, and she was the band's original drummer.
