Sharon Mitchell, originally named Fatima Maria, was born on January 18, 1956, in Trenton, New Jersey. She was adopted into a Catholic family in Monmouth County as an only child and later changed her name to Sharon Kelly before ultimately adopting the surname Mitchell in honor of Martha Mitchell. At 17, she entered into a brief marriage, after which she turned her focus to off-Broadway acting and dancing, claiming to have toured with the Martha Graham Dance Company.
In the mid-1970s, she began her career in the adult film industry, making her debut in films like Captain Lust and the Pirate Women in 1977.
