Born on January 27, 1966, Tamlyn Naomi Tomita is an actress of Japanese heritage. Her journey in front of the camera began with her portrayal of Kumiko in the 1986 film The Karate Kid Part II, a role she revisited decades later in the 2021 streaming series Cobra Kai. Audiences also recognize her for her performance as Waverly in the 1993 film The Joy Luck Club. Tomita's filmography extends to notable titles such as Come See the Paradise (1990), Picture Bride (1994), Four Rooms (1995), Robot Stories (2003), The Day After Tomorrow (2004), and Gaijin 2: Love Me as I Am (2005).
