Tini Cansino — Biography
Tinì Cansino, whose birth name is Photina Lappa, entered the world in Volos, Greece, on September 23, 1959. A performer and commentator with a career spanning showgirl and acting roles, she cultivated her early artistic talents through classical dance studies. Her journey into the Italian entertainment scene began at the age of nineteen during a visit to Italy. It was then that Alberto Tarallo, a producer of television dramas and an entertainment agent, recognized her potential. Tarallo, struck by her likeness to the American screen legend Rita Hayworth, whose family name was Cansino, encouraged her to adopt Tinì Cansino as her professional moniker. This resemblance even led to a widespread, though incorrect, public perception of a familial connection to the Hollywood star. Cansino's initial television appearance was on the Rai 2 program Playgirl, alongside Minnie Minoprio. However, her significant breakthrough arrived in 1983. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of the "fast food girl" in the immensely popular Italia 1 comedy series Drive In. Cansino remained a fixture on the show for its entire five-season run, concluding in 1988.
