Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, commonly referred to as AOC, is a progressive member of Congress representing New York City at the federal level. Since 2019, she has held the seat for the 14th Congressional district as a Democrat. Working alongside Rashida Tlaib, Ocasio-Cortez champions policies rooted in progressive ideology, encompassing workplace democracy, universal Medicare coverage, free college tuition, federal employment initiatives, environmental protection through a Green New Deal, and dismantling Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She belongs to "The Squad," a collective of progressive House legislators that includes Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, and Summer Lee. As of February 2026, she maintains 9.6 million Instagram followers, 3.2 million followers on TikTok, 335,000 YouTube subscribers, and 911,000 followers on her Twitch channel.
